There is a reason you're an out of work actress

“I was just shooting in Belize and in St. Tropez and I met this homeless man who had never owned a shirt in his life. He had taken his pants and worn them as a shirt and I just thought it was so creative, you know? He was just liberated from the conventions of fashion.” —Julia Stiles mocking green & celebrity fashion lines as well as, maybe inadvertently, Erin Wasson.

Icon: A Day of Daphne Guiness cont.

Sadly this is my last post about Daphne, I addressed her personal style in the last entry but this one is a more in depth look at her gothic-couture-edwardian style. I am absolutely obsessing over the fact that she collaborates with her friends to produce her shoes and her jewelry. I hope we cross paths again Daphne.

I have adored Daphne Guinness for the longest time. Anyone who consider themselves into fashion knows who she is, and if you don't then you should really reevaluate your dedication to fashion. I had the pleasure of meeting her once at the now defunct Beatrice and she could not have been more divine. Granted I had a dear friend introduce me because they were friends but nonetheless I got the pleasure of being in her presence. I remember the night quite vividly she was dancing under the disco ball with a gaggle of you beautiful men with chiseled faces and I'm sure chiseled bodies, but this isn't about them its about Daphne. She was dressed in this fantastic floor-length black couture gown in which she accessorized with her signature platform mary janes and all this gorgeous estate jewelry. She was everything I had ever imagined, that was when I realized why I adored Daphne Guinness so much. No, it wasn't because she showed up to Beatrice with a gaggle of gorgeous men wearing Haute Couture (that was kind of part of the reason) but the fact that after all these years she still manages to stay relevant and is always refurbishing old looks or trends and making them new again. For example the photos above with Gareth Pugh, he is 10+ years her junior but she still manages to go where no other woman or icon in her age bracket has ever gone before.

She is really the perfect definition of a muse she is always inspiring.

Daphne Guinness is one of the most influential style icons of our generation appealing to a wide range of people. So, seeing that she has been in the press for the past couple weeks I felt compelled to dedicate a day of entries to her. I absolutely adore how nonchalant she and I hope that she will do handstands for me.

Get on the Traina Train

Wearing Balenciaga S/S 04 @ Givenchy

Here is my favorite Traina photographed at the Chanel Haute Couture show this past July looking ravishing in Givenchy. Why Givenchy at Chanel and Balenciaga at Givenchy? Because she is a Traina and she can.

Here have a piece of Kate

Here is Kate Moss on the cover of the September Issue of British Vogue not to be confused with the September Issue of American Vogue that was made into a documentary in order to save Anna Wintour's tanking career. Doesn't Kate look a bit Basic Instinct? She is stunning none the less but still kind of resembles Catherine Tremell.
