Give me Mohr Mohr Mohr!

I am partial to Jeremy Scott mainly because it isn't my aesthetic. I prefer monochromatic and Jeremy Scott prefers pow in your face colors and prints, but so far this is my favorite collection, he really put a new spin on less is Mohr.

Karl Who?

Karl Lagerfeld is not my favorite designer as many of my friends know, but I must say I do respect him and mention how he is a theatrical genius as well as a great designer. I have had the privilege of meeting him and I hope that I will be able to attend one of his shows, so that I can see his genius in the flesh. Of course my good friend Coco will be my date.

"Her name is Kate Moss, The Fragrance is Parisienne."

Here is Kate Moss rolling around in a car and then in a bed and then back in a car looking less photoshopped than usual. She still looks ravishing.

Ryan Saves Stella and Missoni

I have really weird obsessions with a lot of things Ryan Mcginley being one of them. I love everything about him to his campaign and exhibition concepts to his cute baby face. So above are the two campaigns (the first 2 Stella McCartney and the last one Missoni) he shot for Fall 2009, I just love how quirky his shots are and how completely impractical they are. His past 2 campaigns for Stella McCartney make me justify her high-prices for faux leather.

Hot Cole's and Hot Ash's

Posh's Posh Campaign Video

It doesn't surprise me that Victoria Beckham has a great sense of humor under her cold exterior. I mean seriously she pouts all the time how could she not? She needs an outlet and in her case its her campaign videos.

Daily Dose of Daphne

Daphne Guinness Likens Topshop to Gucci —Style.com has an interview with Daphne Guinness coming out on Friday. Among the tidbits: "People think I'm Miss Couture but I know how to do it. I kid you not, I once did a shoot with just rubbish bags." On Topshop: "It's so great. I buy stuff there that you'd find in Gucci." And on her iconic black and white-streaked hair: "There's no way I can get rid of it unless I shave my head and dye it black." [Meenal Mistry Twitter, Meenal Mistry Twitter, Meenal Mistry Twitter]

There is a reason you're an out of work actress

“I was just shooting in Belize and in St. Tropez and I met this homeless man who had never owned a shirt in his life. He had taken his pants and worn them as a shirt and I just thought it was so creative, you know? He was just liberated from the conventions of fashion.” —Julia Stiles mocking green & celebrity fashion lines as well as, maybe inadvertently, Erin Wasson.

Icon: A Day of Daphne Guiness cont.

Sadly this is my last post about Daphne, I addressed her personal style in the last entry but this one is a more in depth look at her gothic-couture-edwardian style. I am absolutely obsessing over the fact that she collaborates with her friends to produce her shoes and her jewelry. I hope we cross paths again Daphne.

I have adored Daphne Guinness for the longest time. Anyone who consider themselves into fashion knows who she is, and if you don't then you should really reevaluate your dedication to fashion. I had the pleasure of meeting her once at the now defunct Beatrice and she could not have been more divine. Granted I had a dear friend introduce me because they were friends but nonetheless I got the pleasure of being in her presence. I remember the night quite vividly she was dancing under the disco ball with a gaggle of you beautiful men with chiseled faces and I'm sure chiseled bodies, but this isn't about them its about Daphne. She was dressed in this fantastic floor-length black couture gown in which she accessorized with her signature platform mary janes and all this gorgeous estate jewelry. She was everything I had ever imagined, that was when I realized why I adored Daphne Guinness so much. No, it wasn't because she showed up to Beatrice with a gaggle of gorgeous men wearing Haute Couture (that was kind of part of the reason) but the fact that after all these years she still manages to stay relevant and is always refurbishing old looks or trends and making them new again. For example the photos above with Gareth Pugh, he is 10+ years her junior but she still manages to go where no other woman or icon in her age bracket has ever gone before.

She is really the perfect definition of a muse she is always inspiring.

Daphne Guinness is one of the most influential style icons of our generation appealing to a wide range of people. So, seeing that she has been in the press for the past couple weeks I felt compelled to dedicate a day of entries to her. I absolutely adore how nonchalant she and I hope that she will do handstands for me.

Get on the Traina Train

Wearing Balenciaga S/S 04 @ Givenchy

Here is my favorite Traina photographed at the Chanel Haute Couture show this past July looking ravishing in Givenchy. Why Givenchy at Chanel and Balenciaga at Givenchy? Because she is a Traina and she can.

Here have a piece of Kate

Here is Kate Moss on the cover of the September Issue of British Vogue not to be confused with the September Issue of American Vogue that was made into a documentary in order to save Anna Wintour's tanking career. Doesn't Kate look a bit Basic Instinct? She is stunning none the less but still kind of resembles Catherine Tremell.

Have a little faith

Based on sheer ingenuity this is by far one of my favorite pieces from McQueen. With McQueen's obsession with skulls and death and my morbid outlook on life I think we would make a great team.

Eye on the Prize

Best thing to see in American Vogue, since well...forever. Lily don't ever stop being cute, you're so cute it hurts.

Lauren Santo Domingo

In honor of one of my favorite socialites shacking up with her husband in one of my favorite parts of the city I may as well dedicate a post to her. Lauren Santo Domingo formerly Lauren Davis married Columbian billionaire Andres Santo Domingo a couple years ago. It was the Society Wedding of the Century she had a custom Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci gown commisioned and had an entire issue of American Vogue dedicated as she was a contributing editor. Also, she is a girl about town with impeccable style who chooses daring looks rather than playing it safe. Congrats Lauren on the new townhouse in Gramercy Park mind if I crash after a long night at Rose Bar?

Editorial of the Day: Shalom Harlow

Hands down foreign magazines have America beat on editorials.

Balmain: My Continued Disdain

I have publicly expressed my disdain for Balmain's recent collections in the past, but that is only because it's turned into the "it" brand, which to me takes away the exclusivity and the allure of the clothes. I can tell you though just because I hate it, I still do appreciate the clothes, mainly this jacket seen above.

Alex Wang: Resort 2010

As many of you might know designers have started diffusing their lines thus more and more labels are doing pre-fall, resort, and cruise lines. I personally think resort and cruise is a waste of time do to the fact that who in this day and age has the money to cruise and resort. Seeing as I have no choice but to resort to these collections until spring debuts at Bryant Park this fall it will have to suffice. Above is some of my favorite looks from this Resort Collection, I really adore was Alex is doing with knits F/W 08 was a play on hobo-chic, Pre-Fall 09 is a play on chainmail, and now Resort 10 reminds me of lattice fencing. Even if I do buy some of these pieces I dont know what resort I will wear them to. I guess I will just have to resort to debuting them around Manhattan if I ever managed to get up before 7 pm.

CFDA Awards 2009: Who's Hot and Who is definitely not.

Definitely Not.

(As much as I am a fan of both these fine ladies, their ensembles were completely ruined by their shoes.)

Hot.

No further explanation is needed thus concluding this entry.

It's on with Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung is by far one of my favorite style icons of today frequently written up on best-dressed lists for her quirky-boyish-messy style. Although deemed an 'It' Girl she has been quoted saying “there’s not much to being an It girl. It’s really quite a depressing title to hold”. If you are still unaware of who she is well you're about to find out because she is about to blow up with her new show 'It's on with Alexa Chung' on MTV. It's the best thing to happen to MTV since well forever. Although Alexa has been on the small screen for quite sometime across the pond this is her first appearance on the small screen in the US. Her show is a mix of live-music, guest hosts, and a variety of different segments. You should definitely check out her daytime show by checking your local listings for show times. Until then you should look for some inspiration from her.
